Forming from members of Black Star Dub Collective and Manchester’s dub organizers Dub Reaktion, Conscious Youth began with the primary aim of putting out political digital dubs to express their discontent with the social and political situation across the world.
Feeling inspired by soundsystem culture and the ability a sound has to bring communities together, work then begins for a live set. After a few years of plans under the guidance of Nucleus Roots, Conscious Youth now play out as a sound with live mixing, singers and brass.
It’s time to move things forward.
