The biggest hip-hop head in the Balkans is returning to the Seasplash Festival! Edin Osmić, better known as Edo Maajka, was born in 1978. in Brčko (BiH). He himself says: “Call me mother call me MATI!”. He began his career as MC HC of bend Discord (Defense), after which he became part of the FMJAM and Disciplinska komisija. Edo becomes one of the most prominent and most recognizable names in almost the entire territory of the former Yugoslavia. His debut album “Slušaj Mater” is released in 2002. , after which he becomes a new name for the Blackout’crew. “No Sikiriki” is released in 2004., the third album “Stigo ćumur”, 2006., “Balkansko a naše”, in 2008, and the album “Štrajk mozga”, is released in 2012.
Last year’s and current album “Put u plus” has been proclaimed many times for the best Croatian album in 2018. by critics. Recently, some of the live performances have been accompanied by a band – Edo Maajka & Band. Among other things, Edo makes music for films, does cartoon synchronization, and produces music for other performers. His songs talk about social injustice, love, hate, war, nationalism, humans, hip hop, graffiti and so on…. He says his influences are: Rambo Amadeus, TBF, Safet Isovic, Miladin Šobić, Azra, Zabranjeno Pušenje, Discipline Kičme , Atomsko Sklonište, Majke, Rupa u Zidu and many others. But surely Edo has influenced many people during his rich music career!
