Martinska, \u0160ibenik, Croatia<\/h2>\n

In<\/span>\u00a0its 18th edition, this summer, Seasplash is being held at location <\/span>Martinska for the second year in a row, more specifically the area of the former Martinska auto\u00a0<\/span>camp. Located directly across from the\u00a0historic city<\/span> of \u0160ibenik, on the unique Srem peninsula and at the entrance to the port<\/span> of \u0160ibenik<\/span>, Martinska turned a new page of festival history last summer, and this summer we will again <\/span>enjoy the dense pine forest right by the sea.<\/p>\n

About Martinska:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Martinska got its name somewhere in the 15th century when a church dedicated to St. Martin on the most important pier of \u0160ibenik winemakers was erected. Sailing through \u0160ibenik harbor to Martinska, to cultivate vineyards, olive groves and fields on Srima has been a part of \u0160ibenik everyday life for centuries.<\/p>\n

After the construction of the marina, Martinska was the most important traffic point of \u0160ibenik until July 27, 1966, when the \u0160ibenik bridge was opened through the \u0160ibenik Bay on the Adriatic highway.<\/p>\n

Still, Martinska was still very important to the \u0160ibenik, but as a beach resort. In addition, it also keeps memories of the historic beginnings of tourism in \u0160ibenik. It was the main \u0160ibenik beach site for years before the construction of the beach on Jadrija. For a couple of years now, the new history of Martinska is being written and Seasplash Festival is proud to be a part of it.<\/p>\n

About \u0160ibenik:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u0160ibenik is the oldest native Croatian town and a pearl of the Adriatic coast. With its historic fortresses and UNESCO protected cathedral it is a perfect travel destination. Placed in the central Dalmatia it has two national parks, Krka and Kornati, in the vicinity. Its history and beautiful nature together with summer music festivals and gastronomic events make a holistic cultural and hedonistic Mediterranean experience.<\/p>\n
