Seasplash, more precisely its 18th edition, which ended last week at Martinska near \u0160ibenik, as one of the few musical events in Croatia and beyond, judging by the reactions, met the expectations of visitors. Four days of Seasplash, which journalists called “one of the few festival oases in Europe”, gave a cross-section of bass music and sound system culture with more than 40 performers. On two night stages and one day stage, through the program that lasted from 5 pm to 6 am, an atmosphere of good fun and positive vibes was felt despite the epidemic and all the inconveniences that the year 2020 brought. The organizers met all the conditions of the competent institutions that were necessary for the festival to pass in the safest possible conditions. Concern for the health of visitors, a good music program, and a wonderful location in a pine forest, located on a peninsula across from \u0160ibenik and pleasant summer weather, made Seasplash a “smiling Adriatic utopia” where the problems of the outside world could be briefly forgotten. The mostly domestic audience was joined by visitors from the region, as well as countries such as Austria, Belgium, Greece, France, Germany and Poland, fans of reggae, dub, hiphop, jungle, drum and bass and sound system culture.<\/p>\n

The dates of the 19th Seasplash Festival, which will take place from 15 to 18 July 2021, have also been announced, and the\u00a0Super Early Bird festival tickets<\/a>\u00a0are now on sale.<\/p>\n

Despite the impossible situation, festival-goers had the opportunity to enjoy the performances of foreign guests, representatives of the older and newer generation of the European dub scene; British\u00a0Zion Train<\/strong>, and French\u00a0Iron Dubz<\/strong>, who also played materials from their current studio albums released this year, ie \u2018Illuminate\u2019 in the first and \u2018Tuff Like Iron\u2019 in the latter case.<\/p>\n

But the dominant piece of content was logically this year focused on names from the domestic scene. Unlike 18 years ago, when the festival was launched and when the domestic scene was almost non-existent, on this occasion we enjoyed the phenomenal performances of\u00a0Egoless, Filip Motovun, Kand\u017eija, Digitron Sound, Kodin<\/strong>\u00a0which have earned international recognition, and appear as program holders on stages throughout Europe and the world.<\/p>\n

Of course, we must not forget to mention other local names, the fresh ones, which are gaining attention with their work and dedication, and high-quality author’s materials:\u00a0Kali Fat Dub, Aklea Neon, Anja G & Dr. Obi, Homegrown Sound, Playground Hustle<\/strong>, etc.<\/p>\n
