For the first time in 17 years of the festival, Seasplash Festival<\/strong> is taking a trip down to the south, to beautiful Dalmatia, more precisely to Martinska pier and beach<\/a>. Situated directly across the sea from the historic City of \u0160ibenik, on the unique Srim Peninsula and at the entrance of the Port of \u0160ibenik, Martinska will open a new chapter in the festival’s history.<\/p>\n From 18th until 21st July<\/strong> Seasplash will be the perfect place to enjoy reggae, dub, drum and bass, jungle, ska and punk, at the Adriatic sea, and in the sun. First three headliners will be the three unstoppable kings of dub and reggae: Lee “Scratch” Perry<\/strong>, Scientist<\/strong> and Mad Professor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Lee “Scratch” Perry<\/strong>, Scientist<\/strong> and Mad Professor<\/strong> – the sacred trinity of still very active legends of dub and reggae will perform together on the main stage of the 17th Seasplash Festival. Martinska, as the new venue for the festival, will host the top of world’s bass music for its premiere.<\/p>\n Lee \u201cScratch\u201d Perry, one of the most enduring and most original reggae producers of all time, in his 80th year of age will perform for the first time at the Seasplash Festival. Perry has worked with and produced for a wide variety of artists, including Bob Marley and the Wailers, Junior Murvin, the Congos, Max Romeo, Adrian Sherwood, the Beastie Boys, Ari Up, The Clash and many others. He is the most deserving for revolutionary innovation through \u2018dub\u2019 production in the studio. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Perry #100 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.<\/p>\n In the 1960s, when Lee Scratch Perry’s career was taking off, this next headliner of Seasplash Festival was born. Hopeton Brown, better known as Scientist, has over 50 releases, and the number of collaborators as a sound engineer is impossible to count. Barrington Levy, Dona Carlos, Eek A Mouse, Junior Reid, Yellowman, Gladiator and Israel Vibration are just some of them. It all began in the late 1970s, when Hopeton was mentored by the father of dub – King Tubby. His ideas and approach thrilled Tubby so much that he had to say the legendary words _ “Damn, this little boy must be a scientist!” The rest is history, and now Scientist will perform for the Seasplash Festival crowd for the first time.<\/p>\n After last year’s memorable performance, ingenious dub producer Mad Professor returns to the Seasplash Festival. Until the early 90s, Mad Professor and his Ariwa Studio achieved a legendary status with over one hundred albums, world-wide tours and cooperation with many stars (Depeche Mode, Jamiroquai, Beastie Boys) and his remix of Massive Attack\u2019s second album, Protection. In the new millennium, with more than 200 released albums, Mad Professor built his own Ariwa soundsystem, travels around the world, performing clubs and festivals.<\/p>\n FESTIVAL TICKETS<\/a><\/p>\n You can now buy presale festival tickets<\/a> that include four days of the festival program and camping for 90 euros.
