This summer, from July 18 to 21<\/strong>, Seasplash Festival<\/strong> will become the home for the world’s top bass scene at a completely new festival location – the Martinska<\/strong> beach near \u0160ibenik<\/strong>. With the already announced sacred trinity of still active legends of dub and reggae music Lee Scratch Perry<\/strong>, Scientist<\/strong>, and Mad Professor<\/strong>, here are 17 new international and national names that have been added to the festival lineup.<\/p>\n

\"Seasplash<\/p>\n

The new wave of performers at the 17th Seasplash Festival<\/strong> is lead by Dub Pistols<\/strong><\/a>, a five-piece from England. With eight studio albums and 23 years of career under their belt, they are continuing to move the crowds around the world with their contagious live performances. No music festival is complete without their riotous blend of ska, dub, hip-hop, electro, breakbeat, punk, and drum & bass music.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Vibronics<\/strong><\/a>, a band that started to spread bass vibrations in 1996, the same year as Dub Pistols<\/strong>, are considered to be the leaders of the British roots and dub music explosion today. After being discovered by Neil Perch<\/strong> from Zion Train<\/strong>, they started performing throughout Europe and now have over 60 releases on their own legendary Scoops<\/strong> label, as well as collaborations with numerous dub and reggae singers such as Michael Prophet<\/strong>, Iration Steppas<\/strong>, Macka B<\/strong>, Aba Shanti<\/strong>, Brain Damage<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

Seasplash will be delighted to host Edo Maajka<\/strong><\/a>, the loudest hip-hop ambassador in the region, who will be supported by Frenkie<\/strong> and DJ Soul<\/strong> on stage this time. From his debut album Slu\u0161aj Mater<\/strong><\/em> from 2002 to the current album Put u Plus<\/strong><\/em>, which has been listed many times as the best Croatian album in 2018 by critics, Edo<\/strong> has influenced many during his rich musical career. His songs about social injustice, love, hate, war, and nationalism will surely set a festive atmosphere in Martinska.<\/p>\n

A dance invitation that will be impossible to reject will surely come from the London drum & bass duo\u00a0Cause4Concern<\/strong><\/a>. Since 1999, Optiv<\/strong> & CZA<\/strong> have been a drum & bass institution, and from their London base, they conquered many different styles and created their strong record label C4C Recordings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The master of mixing styles, who is performing at the Seasplash Festival for the first time, is a producer from San Francisco,\u00a0Janaka Selekta<\/a><\/strong>, known for his unique combining of powerful bass beat with traditional Indian music.<\/p>\n

Krak in Dub<\/strong><\/a> is arriving to Seasplash as a pure roots reggae junglist. He has come a long way from his early days as one of the original pioneers of the junglist movement in France. Now he is working with Jamaican legends such as Capleton<\/strong> and Demolition Man<\/strong> and is providing the crowd with wild basslines.<\/p>\n

Jah Free<\/strong><\/a>, a veteran of the British dub scene, singer, musician, DJ and dub activist who has been delivering full-fat, exciting and unforgettable bass music for over three decades, is always a dear guest of the Seasplash Festival.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Digitron Sound System<\/strong><\/a> – the most famous sound system in the region, and the first sound system in Croatia that celebrated its ten year anniversary at last year’s Seasplash is returning to the festival, and the Italian band Warrior Charge<\/strong><\/a> is also back again. Moby Stick<\/strong><\/a> will present authentic reggae sound made in Austria, with thick dub sounds, lyrics to think about and the unavoidable “joyful vibe” that Jamaican music brings. Haris Pilton & Chakka Svraka, who make up Kali Fat Dub<\/strong><\/a>, are the adventurers, songwriters, and verbal painters, obscured by the apocalyptic vision of today. Another local duo made up of Luka Barbi\u0107 of TBF and Ivan Juric – Yuri of St!llness, are spreading love towards reggae music with their project Banana zvuk<\/strong><\/a>. Their recently released first album Split Banana<\/strong><\/em>, features some of the world\u2019s greatest reggae names. Boca Sound System<\/strong><\/a>, Sapleo<\/strong><\/a>, Inka<\/strong><\/a>, Pluvio<\/strong><\/a> and\u00a0Fullstep Phil<\/strong><\/a> are other local names riding on this second wave of Seasplash performers.<\/p>\n
