Mad Ting! is Zagreb’s grime program that takes place regularly in the basement of the Pločnik bar called Klein. The program was launched by Grime Croatia, and the idea is to popularize UK based music in Zagreb. DJ Rofellos was originally the only resident DJ, but shortly after a DJ Simonok guest appearance, the standard setup was extended to two DJs, DJ Rofellos and DJ Simonok. Mad Ting! is the only regular grime program in Zagreb and they also represent other genres coming from UK: UK rap, UK drill, bassline, dubstep, drum and bass, UK garage, UK afrobeat. Mad Ting! often hosts Croatian and international DJs, MCs and producers. MAAAAD!
Rofellos is a cheerful guy with an address in Zagreb, a bag full of unexpected digs and fatty beats. Founder of Hip Hop Unity and founder of Dregermajster Crew, he currently shares grades with DJ Chill in Juicy Croatia and Grale Gelipter in the Dreger Bass Section. He has recently been involved in his new project, Grime Croatia, focusing on the grime. He is also resident at Mic Drop and Mad Ting in Zagreb. He has been active in hip-hop since 1999, and he bought his first vinyl in 2001. Since then, he has not stopped digging and seeking new audio delicacies. His sets are a mix of urban sounds: from classic to new wave, from boom bap to trap, from gentle RnB to aggressive grime.
Simon O’Keeffe aka Simonok/Scandal Rankin Sound is an Irish DJ, currently living in Croatia. Simon plays a large repertoire of music stretching from Balkan gypsy music, Baltimore club, to Jamaican influenced UK bass music. A resident DJ at Mad Ting!, Pločnik a monthly grime night and a regular guest at ‘Reggae Tuesday’s’, Masters Club in Zagreb. While not behind the decks he is brewing beer at a local craft brewery. Expect an eclectic mix of bass driven and instrumental grime on a heavy ragga and dancehall tip.
