Dubamix arose in 2003, as a result of an anarchist revolt and passion love for dub music. Their music is inspired by traditional reggae (Jacob Miller in particular…) same as by today’s electro dub (High Tone, Kanka…) and Haydn, Bach or Dvorak. The originality of Dubamix is to mix the samples with politicians to its compositions. This way, Dubamix makes them face their contradictions and contrasts them with an anarchist, anti-capitalist and anti-fascist message. Because this world is unequal, liberticide, because it is ruled by the law of profit, Dubamix intends to take place in one of these islands of resistance based on other values: gratuity, exchange, solidarity and self-management.
The members of the band are Greg (composition, programming, sax), Bonj (dub master), Buss (VJ) and Niko (light engineer). All their music, including first “Mix-A-Dub”, second “Pour Qui Sonne le Dub”, third “Maxi 2 Titires” and fourth “Lavoblaster Remix // feat. Joke”, can be downloaded for free at www.dubamix.net. Don’t miss their first performance on 17th Seasplash festival!
