Melbourne based eclectic electronic producer MonkeyMarc is Australia’s one and only solar powered sampling warrior. Whilst spending most of his time writing music in his solar powered shipping container by day, at night he ventures out to test his subsonic tunes on local and international sound systems. After his acclaimed success producing for Combat Wombat (Australia Hip Hop) it seems nothing can stop him. Numerous remixes for overseas acts Moonshine Sessions (Gotan Project) and French based acts DJ Click and Rafiralfiro have gained him overseas acclaim and an international touring schedule over the last two years (Fusion, Germany. Glade, UK, Bellevilloise, Paris). Locally he has remixed for “The Herd” (Elefant Traks), and Joelistics (TZU, Elefant Traks).
Recently he has produced songs for Roots Manuva’s (UK, Big Dada, Ninja Tune) new album “4everevolution” and for UK rapper Jimmy Screech (UK, Banana clan). His new full-length album with Soom T (UK, Renegade Masters, Scotch Bonnet), was released in early April and is receiving overseas interest. He also has recently released his new EP “MonkeyMarc vs. The Planet Smashers” on Germany’s legendary underground label Jahtari.
His debut solo album “As The Market Crashed” (Omelette Records) has received outstanding reviews.
The album is a beautiful journey through instrumental hip-hop, dub and dubstep that pushes the listener into unchartered new and exciting territory.
With MonkeyMarc will perform MC Elf Tranzporter, bouth for the first time at the Seasplash festival. As a founding member of one of Australia’s early legendary underground hip hop acts, MetaBass’n’Breath, Marlon Porter aka: Elf Tranzporter, has earned a healthy reputation throughout the music, theater and spoken word/poetry scene, for his ‘heart-core’ lyricism, home-made instrumentation and cipher-driven beatbox skills to audiences throughout Australia and abroad.
