The 14th Seasplash Festival will be remembered as the first special soundsystem edition. All fans of heavy basslines came from all over the Europe to visit the festival. This special concept, good music, perfect summer weather, sea and the imposing Fort drew numerous fans of fierce bass who came to Pula from all over Europe.
During the four festival days, five stages in the fort were hosted by ten soundsystems and more than 70 artists! Among them, uprising Croatian artists had the most recognizable performances during the festival; bands ABOP and Bamwise, and a drum and bass producer Filip Motovunski. ABOP and Filip Motovunski released their debut albums this spring on the PDV label, and right now we are eagerly awaiting the first album from Bamwise that is coming out this fall on the same label. One of the main Seasplash guests was Don Letts, legendary British DJ, radio presenter and a musician, a walking legend that was the first link between the growing scene of punk and reggae in the 70’s. The biggest ”hip hop head” in the Balkans, Edo Maajka, also delivered an unforgettable concert. On the LiveSplash stage the audience also enjoyed concerts by Italian bands Wicked Dub Division and the Misty Morning.
Also, we can’t ignore the fact that the 14th edition of the Seasplash Festival presented almost all local, hand-made soundsystems such as Digitron, Botza, Munchies, Bass Matters, Saso Mange, Barabadub and host Seasplash Soundsystem, as well as several international, world-recognized soundsystems. They were led by the powerful 16-kilowatt Abassi Hi Power, project of Neil Perch, founder of the famous band Zion Train, then French O.B.F Soundsystem and Warrior Charge Soundsystem from Italy.
