New artists & new visual identity of the 14th Seasplash revealed!

Dear Seasplash lovers, we are honored to present you the second update of the 14th Seasplash Festival lineup. Bass echoes will follow you from dusk till down! Besides 9 previously confirmed soundsystems, we are announcing the arrival of the almighty O.B.F Sound System from France. You can expect some serious bass attacks! Also, here is an handful of newly confirmed artists such as Kalbata, Israel pioneer of bass music, UK reggae/jungle producer Aries, and some of the finest local producers and DJ’s such as Egoless, Filip Motovunski and 207. Basic information about newly confirmed names are below.

We are also very excited that we can present you this year’s visual identity of the festival, which was created by our longtime associate, valuable and talented Marijana Krbot. Enjoy!

O.B.F SOUND SYSTEM (France)

Rico and G. started collecting music from revival roots to UK dub style in the late 90’s. They then realised they need a powerful sound system to play their selections in Geneva and French underground venues.

KALBATA (Israel)

Kalbata is a bass music pioneer from Israel. Regardless of genre, his distinct musical approach comes through in everything he does, a deep affection for the lowest of frequencies and a collection of vintage effects and instruments which guarantee his razor sharp beats will always have a warm analog feel, floating in a pool of endless ripples and echoes.

ARIES (UK)

Aries is a UK based reggae jungle DJ and producer. He combines vintage jungle sensibilities with traditional reggae music polished off with modern day production techniques.

SEVEN (UK)

Edward Seven is a serious rising star on the dubstep sky, coming from UK, but quickly conquering the global scene. He’s been active on the UK’s dubstep scene since 2006, introduced by his longtime friend, the legendary DJ Youngsta.

EGOLESS (Croatia)

Egoless is a well-known multi-instrumentalist from Zagreb. His live dub acts will blast off your mind! He is publishing on appreciated labels such as British Lion Charge Records and American ZamZam Sounds. His 12” vinyl From Dust to Dub / Broken Tape Dub (Lion Charge, UK) was nearly sold out in just a week!

FILIP MOTOVUNSKI (Croatia)

Filip Motovunski is a drum & bass/jungle DJ and producer from Motovun. He is involved in music since he was a little kid, mostly MC-ing and beatmaking in his PCP band. As a part of Kingston Soundsystem from Zagreb he started to produce his own d’n’b/jungle tracks and play around as a DJ.

207 (Croatia)

Vedran Pusic aka 207 is a dubstep/bass producer and DJ from Pula, with current residence in Zagreb. His music has been released for very much recognized labels in the deep dubstep scene as M.U.D, Biscuit Factory and Deep Dark and Dangerous.

KALI FAT DUB (Croatia / Slovenia)

It’s the unexplainable connection of Haris Pilton and MC Chakka Svraka. Their music, grown in yellow scoops boxes and loaded with heavy B&C speakers, brings a mixture of the old magpie habits; collecting, picking, informing, alarming, performing, stealing, attacking, hiding and singing.

No, we did not forget the bands!

Although the 14th Seasplash Festival comes as a special edition dedicated to the soundsystem culture, bands playing live remain an integral part of the program. On this special occasion, live bands will perform in the festival zone so far known as the DubSplash floor.

Today we are announcing performances from two Italian bands Wicked Dub Division & Michela Grena and The Misty Morning, also an audio-visual spectacle better known as ABOP, from Zagreb, Croatia!

WICKED DUB DIVISION & MICHELA GRENA (Italy)

Italian band whose music flows from reggae/roots to heavy dub vibes inna year 5000 style! The band consists of legendary B.R Stylers members (Michela Grena – vocals and G.P. Ennas – drums). Wicked Dub Division began performing in 2014, though the band members were already active on the dub scene for over 10 years.

ABOP (Croatia)

ABOP is an exciting audio / visual / instrumental band from Zagreb (After is Better than the Party). They are officially formed 5 years ago. As instrumentalists, they are very active in various popular regional acts like: Elemental, Pips, Chips & Videoclips, Kries, Mayales, Sinestet or Pridjevi. ABOP is composed of: Erol (bass), John (drums), Levi (drums), Božanski (samples, synth), Tourett (synth) i Lo Peaks (live mix desk).

THE MISTY MORNING (Italy)

The band was founded in the spring of 2012 in Serramanna (Sardegna, Italy). A few months later, the band was invited to perform on stage for the first time with the great Alpha Blondy for the Codrongianos feast (SS). Afterwards the formation it was stabilized and started various shows around the island.
